BECAUSE DREAMS ARE SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!
I must admit, I am one of those that dreams of those times. I dream of having servants doing my hair and having them at my beck and call. The laughter, the glamor the beautiful mansions and castles. The lush green gardens and mazes, the art of learning to flirt behind a fan, who knew that was an art? Best of all, I dream of the love that radiates between couples. Dancing the waltz with the man of my dreams. Heck, if I'm dreaming I might as well make him the Duke. Why not live in Jane Austen's world? Mr. Darcy may be stern but he was made for Elizabeth Bennet. Why not live in a world where romance comes true? Emma and Mr. Knightley? To be in the shoes of these women. Why not have those dreams? Why not fancy yourself in that world? Daydreams are an escape from reality, and even if they never come true, you can live in your dreams. We can't let Persuasion slip through our fingers, a story of hurt and forgiveness with Anne Elliot and dear Captain Wentworth. Captain Wentworth pouring out his heart to Anne:
"You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight and a half years ago. Dare not say that a man forgets sooner than woman, that his love has an earlier death. I have loved none but you. Unjust I may have been, weak and resentful I have been, but never inconstant."

| Emma I find myself lost in my books and movies, I live as a daydreamer, in a world not reality. In my world romance wins, in my world I win. Men and women treat each other with utmost respect, love, and devotion. Never a strong word against the other and never violence. Only peace, love, and kindness. A place where a man knows how to woo his woman. Forget the games, bring the romance. What's wrong with this world? Nothing, that's why I keep it. I know this goes out of my realm of Jane Austen, but on my mission to find the man of my dreams I came across another dreamer, and I must admit I am liking her choice in men (http://sylviamauren.blogspot.com/2009/11/finding-mr-right.html) Of course, I'm going to say she left out the most obvious one: Hugh Jackman in Australia, okay let's not get picky, Hugh Jackman in any movie :) |
